Training Log: Home gym pics

So, anyone that reads this training log knows I recently decided to take the next step and build a home gym. There were quite a few reasons for me to do so, but the main ones are: more family time, having my son grow up around the positive influence a consistent training program can give you, and $80 a month stays with me.

The home gym is nothing fancy, but it has what I need, and I can always add to it when necessary. Craigslist is a great resource for building a home gym; some of my plates are mismatched, old, but really, who cares? They fit on the bar, and they’re heavy; the 2 most important criteria have been met.

Here is the deadlift platform:

Rack, bench, belt, kettlebell, and a bit of weight:

Assortment of bands, jump rope, harness, etc.

(and as a bonus) A little chart our future Strongman made himself one day. I loved this and had to share. Very proud of our little man.

(not shown – tire sled, will have to get a pic of that to share soon)

That’s it so far. Like I said, nothing fancy, but it does what I need it to.

Thanks again to Darren for the motivation to finally take the plunge and build this out. Nothing like having all this at home.

Had dropped my numbers back a couple cycles, but ended up getting only 2, slow, weak reps at 440. Not cool; I’ve definitely lost a bit with this downtime. Still felt good to be back with some weight, in my own gym, with the little man out there hanging out with me. The strength will come back quick.
